Inez Kolff - Contemporary Fine Artist painting abstracts of landscapes, seascapes

Inez Kolff // Contemporary New Zealand Fine Artist

"In Art its not seeing that is so important but making visible". Paul Klee.

I began painting in 1971 at Christchurch Teachers College, tutored by John Coley. Over the course of years I persisted in painting using workshops and courses for support, direction and wisdom.

In the past decade I have moved away from subject matter alone.

The passion for paint and texture using collage materials creates paintings that are spotaneous, rich and different. They identify with either manmade or natural environmental influences, invariably the West coast of the South Island or the Nelson region.

This is a wide selection of work rather than a cohesive group, but that's what my painting is about. I do like to be spontaneous. I have exhibited regularly in Nelson, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin and my paintings have travelled to many parts of the world.

Three years ago I moved away from Nelson city out to this beautiful landscape one hours drive from Nelson and close to the Kahurangi National Park and Whangapeka River. You are most welcome to come and visit my studio at Matariki 295 Tadmor Bushend Rd, R.D.2 Wakefield. Please phone for an appointment or email me for more images.

Please enjoy this on-line exhibition then feel free to contact Inez direct to order available paintings, or commission new work.
